School Committee

The Salem School Committee is comprised of seven community members who are each elected to serve a four-year term on the Salem School Committee. The School Committee is the governing and policy-making body for the Salem Public Schools. According to MGL c71 s37, "the school committee establishes educational goals and policies for the schools in the district, consistent with the requirements of law and the statewide goals and standards established by the Board of Education." 

The Salem School Committee generally holds its regular business meetings on the first and third Monday of each month, starting at 7:00 pm.
