Dear SPS families,
Since the announcement of full remote learning, many families have been reaching out regarding how they can obtain a Chromebook for their student or how to get a broken Chromebook repaired.
During the Spring, over 600 Chromebooks were distributed to PreK - 5 families for remote learning. We placed orders early on to procure more Chromebooks to support each student in our district. We will be well-positioned to have a Chromebook for every student in the district. These Chromebooks are on backorder nationwide and we are receiving them in waves. This distribution is our first for the 2020-2021 school year but we do expect more shipments to be coming our way shortly. Until that point, we ask that Chromebooks are only requested if there is a critical need. More distribution appointments will be available as the Chromebooks are delivered.
Earlier today, some families received a communication from their school and some posts with a link were distributed on Facebook regarding signing up for Chromebook pick up times. These first-wave spots available in the signup link are intended for those families who do not have any device at home or do not have access to one at all for their student.
If you are a family with a critical need, please fill out this form to let us know that you need a Chromebook.
If you have a Chromebook from the school from last school year that either doesn't work or needs some repair, please fill out this form so we can assign a technician to help you.
